Celebrating Diversity in Business and Social Settings

As you know, because of COVID restrictions, London Southside Chamber of Commerce has been unable to hold any face-to-face events for over sixteen months now. We have done our best to keep people connected by telephone and through webinars but it isn’t quite the same. Members like to get together, swap ideas and develop business contacts.

As society slowly starts to open up and it becomes possible to meet in larger groups again, we plan to celebrate this liberation with an evening get-together at an hotel run by Radiana Vlahova, one of our members.

During the pandemic, everyone has become only too painfully aware of how important direct contact with other people is for our happiness and wellbeing. An important emphasis of this celebration will be on inclusivity. We sometimes forget the extent to which people with a disability, physical, mental, spoken or hearing, are often excluded.

During the pandemic we have run some webinars encouraging members to recognise this lack of inclusivity and advise them on ways to overcome it. In the course of this, our first new face-to-face event for some time, you will receive guidance from specialists in Disability on how best to relate to disabled people and communicate effectively.
