DESCRIPTION:Lisbon\, the stunning capital city of Portugal\, is steeped in history and has become an increasingly popular place to visit in recent years\, with a warm Mediterranean climate despite its position facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of Europe’s most charismatic and vibrant cities with a rich and varied history\, a vibrant nightlife and good year-round climate. June was probably the best time to visit\, before the temperature became too hot. Lisbon also happens to be one of Europe’s least expensive cities and offers excellent value for food and drink. It is the commercial and financial centre of Portugal and generates almost 45% of Portuguese GDP\, with many multinational companies headquartered there. \nWe spent 2 nights in Lisbon before travelling by train to the country’s second city\, Porto\, where we stayed close to the historic town centre\, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1996 \nAs always\, our visit enabled members of the group to learn more about the country\, enjoy its culture and explore potential business opportunities. During the 4 days we spent there\, members could choose on an individual basis the daily emphasis they wished to place on business\, culture\, touring or simply relaxing and enjoying excellent local food. \nCOST: \nFlying from Stansted: £399 per person in double or twin room.
